## Trusted by Australian organisations

## Backup

### Everything in Microsoft 365

Email, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams backed up automatically through the day, and kept in Azure storage in your own tenancy for as long as you choose.

### Teams, channels and all

Teams backed up with its standard, private and shared channels, alongside the files behind them.

### Every version kept

Restore points through the day, so you can go back to the moment before something changed.

### As long as you choose

Keep backups for months or years, well beyond Microsoft's own 14 to 30 days for email and 93 days for files.

### In your own Azure

Backups held in Azure storage in your own Microsoft tenancy, in Australia, separate from Microsoft 365 itself.

### People as they come and go

We add new starters and remove leavers as you tell us, so the right people are always covered.

### Light on your people

Backups run in the background, with nothing to install on anyone's computer.

## Restore

### Restore anything, quickly

Find a single email, file version, folder, mailbox or whole site in seconds, and put it back where it was or somewhere new.

### Self-service restore

Your people can restore their own email, files and Teams content from a web browser, signing in with their Microsoft account.

### Search across everything

Search every backup at once, across email, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams.

### Any point in time

Choose a restore point and see your data exactly as it was then.

### Back where it was, or somewhere new

Restore over the original, alongside it, or to another person or site.

### Whole mailboxes and sites

Restore one item or many people's data in one go.

### Save or send

Export items or send them on, when you need a copy outside Microsoft 365.

## Managed for you

### Checked every day

A person reviews your backups each weekday and fixes anything that needs it, so you can trust that a restore will work when you need one.

### Monthly restore tests

Every month we restore a random sample of your data, to prove it can be recovered.

### Restores on request

Ask the service desk and we'll restore it for you.

### Software included

The backup software and its licences are part of the service, kept up to date by us.

### Secure access

Restore tools need a Microsoft sign-in, with multi-factor authentication where you use it.

### Encrypted storage

Your backups are encrypted at rest in Azure.

### Documented

How your backup is set up, kept current alongside the rest of your IT documentation.

## Your data, for as long as you need it

Microsoft keeps Microsoft 365 running. A backup keeps your data, on your terms.

### Beyond the recycle bin

Microsoft keeps deleted email for 14 days by default, up to 30, and deleted files for 93 days. Your backup keeps both for as long as you choose.

- Deleted email kept beyond 30 days

- Old file versions kept beyond 93 days

- Single items restored, not only whole sites

### Your copy, in your Azure

Backups run through the day into Azure storage in your own tenancy, then restore straight back into Microsoft 365 when you need them.

- Held in your own Microsoft tenancy

- Kept in Australia

- Separate from Microsoft 365 itself

## Kept, checked and proven

Every backup checked, every month restored, every item kept for as long as you need it.

## Questions, answered

Anything else? [Ask us directly](https://eightstep.com.au/contact).

**How is it priced?**

Per protected account, per month, so it grows and shrinks with your team. The backups are stored in Azure in your own tenancy, and that storage is billed each month on what you use.

**Doesn't Microsoft already back up Microsoft 365?**

Microsoft keeps the service running and gives you some time to recover deletions: 14 days for deleted email by default, up to 30, and 93 days in the recycle bins for files. Beyond that, or for a single item from a site Microsoft has to restore whole, you need a backup of your own.

**Who can restore?**

We can, whenever you ask the service desk. Your people can also restore their own email, files and Teams content through a self-service portal, signing in with their Microsoft account.

**Where are the backups kept?**

In Azure storage in your own Microsoft tenancy, in an Australian region. That keeps them separate from Microsoft 365, and in your hands.

**Can backups be made immutable?**

Yes. Backups can be held in immutable storage, so they can't be changed or deleted until their retention period ends. We'll recommend it where it suits.

**How does it fit with Managed IT Services and disaster recovery?**

Managed IT Services checks backups and tests restores wherever a backup solution is in place; this service provides that backup for Microsoft 365. It can also sit within a wider [backup and disaster recovery](https://eightstep.com.au/backup-and-disaster-recovery) design.
