## Trusted by Australian organisations

## Calling

### Microsoft Teams telephony

Your phone system moves into the app your people already use. Calls on a computer, the Teams mobile app or a desk handset, with each person's number following them wherever they work.

### Unlimited calls within Australia

Call as often as you need: local, national and Australian mobile numbers are all included.

### Keep your numbers

Your existing numbers are ported across, so nothing changes for the people who call you.

### Any Teams device

A computer, the mobile app on a work or personal phone, a headset or a desk handset: the same number on all of them.

### Voicemail in Teams

Messages land in Teams, transcribed, so people read them between calls and never miss one.

### Handsets and headsets

Where a desk needs a phone, we quote, supply, configure and install it. Where it doesn't, a headset does the job.

### Fax to email

For the suppliers and agencies still faxing, a fax number that delivers to an inbox and sends from one.

## Call flow

### Auto attendant and call queues

A menu for callers, queues that ring the right people in the right order, and routing by time and location, so every call lands where it should, after hours included.

### A menu for callers

Press 1 for sales, 2 for accounts: an auto attendant with your own greeting, recorded or typed.

### Queues and hunt groups

Ring everyone at once or in order, with hold music and a sensible fallback when no one is free.

### Time and location routing

Different behaviour after hours, on public holidays and for each site, set once and kept current.

### Changes as you grow

A new starter, a name change, a change to who's in a queue: adds, moves and changes are part of the service.

### Presence that helps

Teams knows who's in a meeting or away, so calls go to people who can take them.

### Transfers that stick

Pass a call to a colleague on their mobile or at another site without the caller dialling again.

## Numbers and lines

### Numbers, channels and porting

Your numbers ported from your current provider and kept, blocks of direct numbers for the people who need them, and call channels sized to how many calls you make at once.

### Ported, not replaced

Porting takes between ten and ninety days depending on your current provider. Your numbers stay the same throughout.

### Direct numbers

A block of 100 numbers gives everyone who needs one their own direct dial, with spares for growth.

### Channels, not lines

Each channel carries one call at a time across the whole business. We size them to your busiest hour and add more as you grow.

### 13, 1300 and 1800 numbers

Keep the customer-facing numbers you advertise, routed into the same queues and menus.

### Calls to the rest

Calls to 13, 1300 and 1800 numbers and international calls are charged per call or per minute, on a rate card you see before you sign.

### On an Australian carrier

Your channels and numbers run on an Australian carrier's network, connected to Teams by us and watched like the rest of your environment.

## Looked after

The day-to-day changes are part of the service, faults are handled against written service levels, and there's a number to call when something urgent happens outside hours.

### Support that keeps pace with the business

A new starter's number, a name change, a change to a queue or a greeting: included, done the same day, by people who already know how your calls flow.

- Adds, moves and changes included, 8am to 5:30pm on weekdays

- Critical faults: a response within 30 minutes and a one-hour repair target, 8am to 9pm on weekdays

- An emergency number outside hours for anything that can't wait until morning

- Handsets quoted, supplied and installed; meeting rooms sized, with introductions to specialist suppliers

## From your old phone system to Teams

Six steps, with your numbers working the whole way through.

Step 1

### Prepare

We match people to numbers, collect your voicemail greetings and tell everyone what's changing and when.

Step 2

### Port

We lodge the porting paperwork with your current provider. Your numbers keep working with them until the day they move.

Step 3

### Build

Channels connected to Teams, each person licensed and given their number, and your menus, queues and voicemail set up.

Step 4

### Handsets

Desk phones configured and installed where you want them, and headsets handed out where you don't.

Step 5

### Test

Every queue, menu and handset, and calls in and out on every number, checked before anyone depends on them.

Step 6

### Switch over

Calls redirected while the port completes, then your numbers land in Teams and the old system is switched off and taken away.

## A phone system you stop thinking about

## Questions, answered

Anything else? [Ask us directly](https://eightstep.com.au/contact).

**Do we keep our phone numbers?**

Yes, all of them, including 13, 1300 and 1800 numbers. We port them from your current provider, which takes between ten and ninety days depending on who that is, and they keep working with them until the day they move.

**Is calling included in Microsoft 365?**

Not on its own. Each person who makes or takes calls needs a Teams Phone licence on top of their Microsoft 365 licence, renewed alongside it. We include it in the quote and manage it with your other licences.

**Do we need desk phones?**

Only where you want them. Most people use a headset with the Teams app on their computer and the mobile app when they're out. Reception, shared areas and meeting rooms often suit a handset, which we quote, supply and install.

**How are calls charged?**

Calls to local, national and Australian mobile numbers are unlimited. Calls to 13, 1300 and 1800 numbers are charged per call, calls coming in on your own 1300 or 1800 numbers per minute, and international calls on a rate card. You see every rate before you sign.

**What happens if the internet goes down?**

Teams calling runs over your internet connection, so your numbers keep working on the Teams mobile app over 4G or 5G, and we can redirect a queue to mobiles in minutes. A second internet connection, which we can also provide, keeps the office itself talking.

**What about meeting rooms?**

A small room can take a simple handset for calls in and out. For video, screen sharing and calling together, we'll help you size each room and introduce you to specialist suppliers who fit them out.

**How do we get started?**

With one free meeting. You'll leave with a written scope and an indicative price for your environment.
